Optimal Fixed Assets developed by Optima Group, manages fixed assets and inventory objects within a company and also calculates the monthly depreciation. For inventory and counting proceses, the application is using bar code technologies.

The solution is based on the assumption that the company uses a central application for administering the inventory, which functions in a network and also uses a number of mobile terminals whitch will acomplish the counting in certain locations and report the data to the central application.

The counting system of fixed assets has 2 parts:

• Server application
• Client application

The client application may be implemented on a Pocket PC or Palm OS.

The application of counting uses as a database server Microsoft SQL Server 2000. The beneficiary can buy this server this Microsoft product from Optima Group or may use the free component of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (MSDE – Microsoft Desktop Engine).

Server application has the following functions:

• Fully manages the fixed assets and inventory objects and clasifies them in groups and subgroups. The added, modified and deleted items are also included and as are the movements of inventory and transfers between locations.
• Manages the locations (units) and their inventory (executing fizical inventory in diferent units in the country).
• Manages all the objects being in inventory and all the locations with the help of mobile terminals, identifying them by their bar codes.
• Calculates the monthly depreciation coresponding to the algoritms of depreciation.
• The posibility of making the necessary ajustements in calculating the depreciation, in reevaluings, in leasing contracts and in other situations that are identified at a later time.
• The posibility of viewing the patrimony situation and the previous month depreciations.

• Keeping a journal for tracking the movements in the patrimony (movements between diferent rooms of the same locations and also movements between locations).
• The necessary reports (inventory, depreciation, movements).
• Reporting the necessary data picked up by the mobile terminal and received by the central application. Automaticaly making the necessary links for sincronizing the scriptic stoc with the faptic one (also automaticaly creating movements and history tracking of the movements).
• Making the depreciation note. Export to the accounting program of monthly depreciation grouped in locations and in clasifying groups.
• Special functions for creating and printing bar codes.
• The posibility of launching the application on multiple stations simultaneously or individualy.
• The posibility of launching the application and connecting to the database through diferent users with specific rights.
• Other necessary functions for managing the database, administre, managing users.

• Colecting from the database of the informations about the inventory of a specific location for further verifications.
• A function to identify (verify) the existence of the object by reading its bar code.
